You may have noticed that my photography gravitates towards nature. It's a place that, to me, so perfectly embodies both the spiritual and the physical. A flower is so obviously fully material, and fully spiritual, at the same time. Being in nature can lift me up spiritually, and ground me deeper than anything. I was talking to a good friend and colleague yesterday, and we both expressed how sick we are of everything "woo". Don't get me wrong: I love everything about what I do (and feel so lucky and honored to be able to do it), and I also partake in daily spiritual practices, etc. But I've also been feeling very uninspired in the realm of all things "woo". It's a strange feeling for me, because I used to be so obsessed with everything to do with psychics and getting readings, but at this point I would rather be surprised about what's coming up for myself! Outside of my work, I've been more interested in just connecting with nature or my family or my body, and feeling present, grounded, and physically content. It does remind me that it is important for a medium, or anyone, to have a physical life as well as a spiritual life. We don't just sit meditating all day, connecting to Spirit. We have lives that need to be lived. Not just so that we can better relate to other people's lives and be able to bring through the right references in a reading. But also so that we learn how to navigate what it means to be physical, because that in itself is important. To deal with our health and physical well-being. To make sure we're getting to experience the things in life that inspire us and teach us and push us. To make sure we're growing. To balance us out. We are not just spirits. We're in human bodies with human lives with physical obligations as well. Sometimes it would serve me better to go get lunch, rather than listen to a spiritual sermon. (And sometimes it's the opposite). If you're going through a period where everything seems focused on the physical, embrace it. There is nothing wrong with needing to slow down, ground, and focusing on nourishment.
I hope you all have a lovely (nourishing) week

Thanks for commenting, Sally! I am so happy it was helpful for you. It can be helpful to look at the range of what others in your area are charging, and then feel into where in that range you would feel comfortable or even slightly uncomfortable. Try it out, and after a while you will begin to feel very comfortable with that range, and you will be able to increase it as you go. There are people out there who need and want your services, and who would be happy to compensate you for them.
