Tips for finding the right oracle deck for you
Oracle decks can be great to use as a way of intuitively tuning into issues in your own life, and also as a way to dive into readings for others. But how to even find the right one for you? First let's dispel a common/strange myth: You do not need to be given a deck by someone else. You can absolutely go buy one yourself, without any bad energy finding you. I promise. Second, you want to get a deck that speaks to you. One that you feel inspired by: both by the topics of the cards, and by the images on the cards. If you want to learn to read them intuitively, I recommend getting cards that have lots of different colors to them, and interesting/complex imagery, because that makes it easier for your intuition to get involved. There are billions of different decks out there, so don't get too caught up in finding "the one" that is the perfect fit for you. Likely, there are multiple decks out there that are going to speak to you. Most have previews of each card online, so it may be worth looking at what the full deck looks like, to feel if it speaks to you. (I once bought a deck that turned out to be illustrated by two different artists, and I only loved half of the deck's artwork, and hated the other half). Some decks are focused on specific topics, such as abundance or self-care, while others are more general in their topics. And yes, there's going to be a marked difference between tarot and oracle decks: Tarot usually has a traditional tarot structure - the same 78 cards in each deck. Oracle decks do not follow any traditional structure or layout. Oracles are a bit more free-ranging, and also tend to feel less scary/intimidating for people to start off with. Do you have a deck already? If so, what's your favorite one to use? I only use my decks if I need some insight into personal life stuff, or for fun for friends. My fave deck to use is the druid animal oracle (even has it as an app, which is amazing). I also love Brian Froud's faery oracle, because the images speak so loudly to me.

What a psychic does, and what a psychic doesn't do A psychic can: - Help you understand the deeper patterns and energy of your past and present - Validate your situation/feelings/intuition, and clarify what is your intuition, and what is not - Give you clarity so you can make your own decisions about your future from an empowered space - Give you a heads up about situations around you, or about situations coming your way, or about where you are currently headed based on your current actions What a psychic cannot do: - Make decisions for you - Make you do the work that's needed to bring in the things you desire in life - Make anyone feel/say/do the things you want them to Essentially, you have free-will. Everyone around has free will. A psychic hopefully is able to give you some clarity, some deeper understanding, and some tools to navigate where you do want to go in life, but you are an active participant in that. And a little friendly reminder that a psychic should not: - Make you feel dependent on their services - Make you feel disempowered, lost, or hopeless. - Pressure you to pay more to remove curses or make a spell to make anyone love you, etc etc. Sending you lots of warm thoughts! How to communicate with your animal companion when they are having behavior challenges... and how not to communicate with them. Don't take it personally! Does the behavior meet a need? Have we encouraged the behavior? Suggestions for helping both the animal and the person. |
