How our animals connect to us

I often feel extremely lucky to do what I do for a living. Every day is different, and I don't think I will ever get bored from this work.

Last week, in addition to my mediumship readings, I got to communicate with 7 horses, 2 dogs, and 2 cats (all still living.). Their personalities and ages and challenges were immensely varied. Some readings were hilarious. Some were beautifully touching. Some were charmingly scatterbrained.

Every reading is unique. One thing that is often the same though, is that animals will bring up things that the owner has only ever thought about, not spoken about in front of them. I love that animals share this because it shows just how connected they are to their human companions, and how much they are picking up from them.

This is not surprising, because what an animal and I do when we're communicating is using thoughts (telepathy basically), which are just energy. Us humans tend to be energetically broadcasting our unspoken thoughts throughout the day, and so our animal friends will hear them, particularly those thoughts that are emotionally charged or repeated a lot.

In addition to our thoughts, they also are very in-tune with our emotions. Emotions are also just energy, and can be communicated in the same way as thoughts. I have talked with a lot of animals who see their role in life as emotional support for their humans. Just last week I talked to several furry beings who mentioned they had been essential to their humans' healing journey: from heart-break, difficult parental relationships, and learning self-love.

Sometimes animals will take on the emotional stuff that the human is going through, and it manifests in the animal as anxiety or physical issues. They also tend to mirror our physical diseases and symptoms. If I had a quarter for every time I've talked to an animal that has the same diseases or pains as their owner, I would be a rich person. Hip pain, back pain, cancers, skin diseases, rare degenerative diseases in the same spots, you name it. Even one of my cats and I have similar health issues.

I find that, in addition to investing in our animal companion's health and well-being, we can relieve a lot of their work by investing in our own healing. By working on ourselves, getting back into balance, healing and grounding, we help our animal companions out immensely. There's less stress for them to absorb, and more healing energies for them to benefit from. If there's one thing I have learned from my work as a medium and animal communicator, it's that we're all connected. When we heal ourselves, we heal the collective as well.
